All I can say is that Yehle was a piece of work... we had many classes together and were friends for years. We didn't always see eye to eye, but he and I could get ourselves in trouble pretty easy.

John had a pretty good sense of humor and could always get me laughing... he was an alright guy!

I remember John being this little short fellow, listen to me calling someone short! I remember he never turned his head but was very stiff and animated when he spoke. He really could make a room rock with laughter and his antics.

my sister scherry was best friends with john's sister Liz..i remember working with johnny at the woodbine restaurant in englewood when we were 14, and 15 yrs old. we had alot of laughs..  he was always getting into trouble on the school bus, we had to ride the bus from venice to north port then on to englewood taking the old back road which was very bumpy...one day johnny was acting up, and Dolly our bus driver put him off the bus half way home, she got into trouble for that, but johnny acted better after that...he married a girl from englewood, and they had a son named paul, and i think he might still live in englewood..anyway, johhnny passed away around 1978 he was too young...his son looks just like him, and he was a little scrapper too.lol.......too many memories to tell them all, but he was really a good guy just misunderstood...his sister liz yehle passed away a few years ago also...

John and I hung out in the music class and the boy's bathroom and probably got into as much trouble in both. My fondest memory was when he said since our music teacher wasn't married we should call him 'Master Bates'!

"Live fast, die young, and leave a good looking corpse." ~from the Humphrey Bogart movie, Knock on Any Door

and..." the Good, they die young! _Billy Joel

RIP John and thanks for the memories!

I went to Englewood Elementary with John.  He was wiry and a funny guy - always had that big cheshire-like grin on his face. I thought he was sweet.
